Bringing Ideas to Life and Light
Twenty years ago I met and married the man of my dreams! We planned and executed our wedding by ourselves. I know it was a great day, because everyone told us how beautiful it was and there were lovely pictures with smiling, happy faces in them. But... I was so stressed out, that I don't remember most of the day. All I can remember is holding my husband's hands and everything going by so very quickly.
So, ten years later, when a close friend came to me and said that she had no idea how to handle all of the stress that her wedding was bringing about, I completely understood. I explained that I would lend a hand and take some of the stress from her. I was able to help both her and her mother reduce their stress levels. I craftily decorated, made her wedding bouquets and boutonnieres, helped to insure that all of the vendors, family and friends were directed to the right areas at the church. All of her ideas were put into motion, her doubts and fears were put to rest as I completely handled every aspect of her most special day. I didn't ask or expect anything from her, she was a friend. I was glad to do it! When she returned from their honeymoon, she gave me some advice and a check to cover my time. I tried to give the check back, but she wouldn't take it. She said that I deserved that and much more. The advice was: "You should be doing this all the time, you made my day perfect! You took all of the stress and helped in more ways than we could have imagined."
I fell in love with helping others by planning, arranging, decorating. I also adore all of the glitz, glam and glitter that go with weddings. I was hooked! Since that day, I have been able to guide many couples through many different tasks and remove potentially stressful moments that could have left terrible memories. Instead my brides and grooms have expressed gratitude and praise for our accomplishments.
The joy I have found and continue to find at each and every one of my weddings & events come from the happiness on my clients faces. The pure bliss, I see, in the eyes of a newly married couple, the love on a mother/father's face as their grown child says “I Do”, the smiles lingering across the guests’ faces while they watch a first dance; those are the moments that bring me joy. Those are the moments that define me. For those are the moments when I know I have done my job. I have created a stress free, relaxed day for my clients and I am happy.
